Fans attending the South Dakota High School Football championships at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion are being reminded to take measures to prevent COVID-19 spread. Here is a message from University of South Dakota President Sheila Gestring:
USD strives to ensure the safety of all patrons who visit our campus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students, faculty, staff and visitors are required to wear face coverings in all indoor, public spaces on campus; this policy will be strictly enforced throughout the high school championships inside the DakotaDome.
Here are some other ways we are working to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during these championship games. We appreciate your assistance in promoting these safety measures:
- Face coverings are required at all times.
- All four entrances to the DakotaDome will be utilized to provide spacing for fans as they enter and exit the facility. Your ticket indicates a preferred entrance, and we strongly advise you use it.
- Look for signage near restrooms and concession stands that assists with flow while accounting for social distancing.
- Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the concourse.
- Aramark, our food service provider, will offer only prepackaged items and bottled drinks at concession stands. As a reminder, face coverings are required when not actively eating or drinking.
- Every ticket has an assigned seat. Our ticket office has worked tirelessly to ensure that groups are spaced out in a socially distanced manner. Please adhere to these seating assignments to protect yourself and be respectful to other patrons.
- Listen and look for safety announcements on the video board and through the speaker system.
- Fans will not be allowed down on the field following the games. This is a change from previous years. There will be no exceptions made in the enforcement of this policy.
