VERMILLION – Tea Area won its second 11A championship in three seasons Saturday, topping Canton 35-16 at the DakotaDome.
Quarterback Austin Lake rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two for Tea Area (11-0) and Kaden Johnson had a 90-yard scoring run. Lake was 7-0f-10 for 142 yards. Johnson rushed for 128 yards. The Titans scored on their first four possessions to take a 28-0 lead. Seth Peterson had a touchdown rushing and another passing for Canton (8-3), the 2019 11A champion whose eight-game winning streak ended.
