The 2020 Mobridge Snow Queen activities were held this past weekend at Scherr Howe event center. This year’s festival was sponsored and hosted by the Mobridge Lions Club.
With Covid-19 in mind, personal masks were given to each contestant and temperature checks were performed throughout all events. There were 22 beautiful young ladies that took part in the events that included on Friday a seminar from The Support Circle & pizza party from The Pizza Ranch, interviews on Saturday morning with brunch provided by Mobridge Regional Hospital, Payless Foods and Gas N Goodies Pizza. The pageant was held Saturday evening with Brian Thompson as Master of Ceremonies. Queen Tyrel Thompson and Junior Queen Caylee Dennis handed down the title and crowns in their respective categories.
With 13 Seniors involved, 2nd Runner-up was CHANNING WIENTJES daughter of Ross & Keri Wientjes, Miss Congeniality and 1st Runner-up KATE FULKERSON, daughter of Bob & Sarah Fulkerson and Queen CALLIE WEISBECK daughter of Jason & Jamie Weisbeck received titles.
Nine MPHS freshman were in The Junior snow queen division, titles went to 2nd Runner-up REAGAN WEISBECK daughter of Jason & Jamie Weisbeck, 1st Runner-up HEIDI OLSON daughter of Jon & Jill Olson, Miss Congeniality & Junior Snow Queen PHOEBE SCHMALTZ daughter of Kurt & Monica Schmaltz. 28 first grade students graced the audience with their smiles as Prince Ashton Aberle son of Michael & Katelynn Aberle and Princess Grace Strickland daughter of Thomas & Viktoria Strickland were crowned.
The Mobridge Lions Club would like to thank all the generous donors and volunteers that helped make this event possible as they continue the Mobridge tradition of Snow Queen.
