WATERTOWN – Sioux Falls Christian won in the semifinals of the SDHSAA A State Volleyball Tournament at the Watertown Civic Arena, moving one win away from a ninth state championship in the last 11 years and fourth in a row. Dakota Valley also advanced to the championship match for the sixth time since 2012.
Semifinals
Sioux Falls Christian 3, Hamlin 0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-19)
Sioux Falls Christian (27-1) was dominant for the second straight match as Abby Glanzer led with 14 kills & 12 digs. Ashtyn Abraham had 8 kills for Hamlin (20-5).
Dakota Valley 3, Parker 0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-18)
Sophia Atchison led the Panthers (17-5) with 12 kills and 14 digs. Brooke Berens had 7 kills for the Pheasants (19-8).
Consolation
Madison 3, Winner 1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18)
Abby Brooks controlled the match for the Bulldogs (17-5) with 31 kills. Kalla Bertram led Winner (22-6) with 18 kills and Ellie Brozik had 17.
Rapid City Christian 3, Hill City 2 (25-21, 26-28, 21-25, 25-20, 15-12)
As the Comets (29-5) rallied to win the last two sets, Olivia Kieffer had 23 kills. Dale Schrier had 18 kills to lead the Rangers (26-4).
