The Fort Pierre National Grassland District Office is now selling Christmas Tree permits for the Black Hills National Forest.
Permits are $10 each for each cut tree and can be purchased by calling Carol Erickson at 605-517-5437 or by leaving a message at the District Office at 605-224-5517. Due to COVID 19, the office is currently closed to the public. However, arrangements can be made in advance to mail out the tags or they can be issued curbside.
Fourth and fifth grade students who have an “Every Kid Outdoors (EKO)” pass, or paper bar code voucher, are eligible to receive one free Christmas Tree permit.
