The residents of one apartment in the Edgewater Apartment Building that burned down in Pierre yesterday (Jan. 14, 2021) say they didn’t hear any smoke alarms going off before they evacuated.
Bryanne LongFox and Tyler Carter were settling in to their evening routine when they realized something was wrong.
The couple says they grabbed their 2 and 4 year old daughters and left the building.
LongFox and Carter say support from the community has been wonderful.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Edgewater Apartment Buildings are owned by Foster Rentals.
