South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson, along with colleagues from North Dakota and Washington, hosted a discussion yesterday (Feb. 8, 2021) with nearly two dozen business owners who have been impacted by President Joe Biden’s Executive Order shutting down construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Johnson said canceling the Pipeline with the stroke of a pen “destroyed the investment made by thousands of everyday Americans.”
North Dakota Congressman Kelly Armstrong said when an area produces a lot of things not consumed in that same area, “the fight is in the transportation.”
Washington Congressman Dan Newhouse said terminating the Keystone XL Pipeline is a devastating blow to our nation’s energy independence and economy.
Johnson said it’s not just about a pipeline– it’s about the investments people made in response to a project that earned all of its permits and was already under construction.
