VERMILLION – South Dakota is the 11th seed in Alamo Region of the Women’s NCAA Tournament and will play sixth seed Oregon on Monday at 9:00 PM at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
South Dakota is 19-5 after winning the Summit League tournament championship on March 9. The Coyotes made the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season and for the second straight year as the Summit League champion.
Oregon (13-8) was fourth in the Pac 12 in the regular season, then lost to Oregon State in the first round of the Pac 12 tournament.
These schools have met once before in the postseason. In the semifinal of the 2016 Women’s NIT, South Dakota defeated Oregon in Eugene, 88-54, before winning the championship.
If USD wins, it would play the winner of the game between Georgia and Drexel in the second round on Wednesday, March 23.
