FORT MYERS, FL – Matt Shoemaker gave up two home runs that led to seven Boston runs Wednesday as the Red Sox beat the Twins in Spring Training, 9-1 at JetBlue Park at Fenway South.
Shoemaker allowed a grand slam to the Red Sox’ Bobby Dalbec in the second inning and a three-run homer to Rafael Devers in the third. Shoemaker allowed seven runs and seven hits in three innings with three strikeouts. Willians Astudillo drove in the only run for Minnesota (6-9-1) with a third-inning double.
The Twins will play Atlanta Friday in North Port, Florida, after a Thursday off day.
