RAPID CITY – Though two of the games were tight, the top four seeds all moved on to the semifinals of the Boys Class AA State Basketball Tournament at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center and Barnett Arena.
Sioux Falls Washington 56, Aberdeen Central 53
Eli Williams hit a shot in the paint with 33 seconds left to break a tie as the Warriors staved off the Golden Eagles’ upset bid.
Aberdeen Central (11-11) had led by six in the third quarter, but was down 11 in the fourth quarter before tying the game with a 12-2 run.
Joe Uttecht led Washington (17-2) with 14 points. Angok Akot scored 12 with eight rebounds and Tahj Two Bulls added 10.
Sam Rohlfs led all scorers with 20 for Aberdeen Central. Alec Voegele scored 17 with 13 rebounds.
O’Gorman 58, Harrisburg 39
O’Gorman’s winning streak extended to 10 with a win over Harrisburg. The Knights led by 18 at halftime, then saw the Tigers come as close as 11 before O’Gorman pulled away in the fourth quarter.
Kade Moffitt led the Knights (16-6) with 14 points, with Joe Lynch adding 13. David Alpers had 11 rebounds and Eddie Meylor pulled down 10.
For Harrisburg (16-6), Blaze Lubbers scored 11 points and Connor Geddes tallied 10.
Yankton 50, Mitchell 46
Yankton rallied from an early 14-1 deficit to outlast Mitchell. The Bucks had a 22-6 run in the second quarter to take the lead. The Kernels led briefly in the third quarter before Yankton (19-3) stayed ahead.
Dylan Prouty led the way for Yankton with 25 points, hitting seven-of-10 three pointers. Matthew Mors scored 17.
Zane Alm scored 12 points with six rebounds and four blocked shots for Mitchell (15-7).
Sioux Falls Roosevelt 64, Brandon Valley 47
Roosevelt pulled away from defending champion Brandon Valley with a 16-4 third quarter run.
Tyler Feldkamp led four double-figure scorers for the Rough Riders (15-5) with 16 points. Marcus Phillps and Tucker Large each scored 13 and Taylen Ashley scored 10.
Dawson Johnson tallied 18 for Brandon Valley (15-7).
