RAPID CITY – Sioux Falls Roosevelt used a 20-6 run in the second half Saturday to breeze past O’Gorman 60-37 in the championship game of the SDHSAA Boys Basketball Class AA State Tournament at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center’s Barnett Arena.
Tyler Feldkamp hit four three-pointers and scored 20 while Marcus Phillips scored 14 for the Rough Riders (17-5), who won the school’s third championship.
Eddie Meylor had 10 points and eight rebounds for O’Gorman (17-7), whose 11-game winning streak was broken.
3rd Place: Yankton 62, Sioux Falls Washington 55
Matthew Mors ended his brilliant high school career with 19 points to lead the Bucks (20-4). Mors leaves Yankton as the state’s fourth all-time leading boys scorer. Mikele Tambalo, Tahj Two Bulls and Angok Akot all scored 13 for Washington (17-4).
5th Place: Aberdeen Central 55, Brandon Valley 50
Harrison Reede hit five three-pointers and scored 19 as Aberdeen Central (13-11) ended its surprising postseason run with back-to-back wins. Jackson Hilton tallied 14 for the Lynx (16-8).
7th Place: Mitchell 78, Harrisburg 72 (OT)
Caden Hinker scored seven of his 29 points in overtime for the Kernels (16-8). Zane Alm had 13 points. Conner Geddes hit for 38 points for Harrisburg (16-8).
