The Pizza Hut® restaurant in Pierre is one of the over 900 franchises across the country that have been bought by San Francisco, CA, based Flynn Restaurant Group LP (“Flynn”).
A news release from Flynn today (March 24, 2021) says they are the largest franchise operator in America owning brands such as Applebee’s®, Panera Bread®, Taco Bell® and Arby’s®. The latest purchase adds 937 Pizza Hut® and 194 Wendy’s® locations throughout the US.
Pizza Hut® locations in South Dakota included in this transaction are located in:
- Pierre
- Aberdeen
- Watertown
- Mitchell
- Brandon
- Sioux Falls—3
- Rapid City–2
- Yankton
None of the Wendy’s® franchises in South Dakota are included in this acquisition.
Flynn’s news release says it will nearly double its restaurant count as a result of this acquisition, now owning and operating a combined total of 2,355 quick-service, fast casual and casual dining restaurants, generating $3.5 billion in sales and employing 73,000 people in 44 states. Flynn’s subsidiaries include the largest Applebee’s franchisee, the largest Arby’s franchisee, the second largest Panera Bread franchisee and the third largest Taco Bell franchisee, which are now joined by the largest Pizza Hut franchisee and the fifth largest Wendy’s franchisee.
