FORT MYERS, FL – Matt Shoemaker and Randy Dobnak pitched well Tuesday in the Twins’ final spring training game, a 1-1 tie with the Pittsburgh Pirates at Hammond Stadium.
Shoemaker started, worked three innings, allowing a run and two hits and striking out two. Dobnak, who signed a five-year contract extension Monday, pitched two perfect innings in relief with a strikeout.
Max Kepler drove in the run for Minnesota (11-15-2) with a sacrifice fly.
The Twins will open the regular season Thursday in Milwaukee against the Brewers, with Kenta Maeda scheduled to start.
