South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has said she will call state lawmakers back to Pierre in late May or early June for a special legislative session.
She says they need to determine how to divvy up money from the most recent federal economic stimulus plan.
Noem also wants legislators to work out regulations for medical marijuana ahead of the July 1, 2021, legalization date in the state.
The Governor is also hoping legislators will pass a law prohibiting transgender women and girls from participating in female sports activities in South Dakota.
But, Noem says, what does or doesn’t get talked about at the special session isn’t up to her.
