Yesterday (April 19, 2021) was a big day for Fort Pierre resident Bob Ricketts.
It was his 81st birthday. It was Bob Ricketts Day in Fort Pierre. And, it was Ricketts’ last meeting serving as a city alderman.
Mayor Gloria Hanson read a proclamation honoring Ricketts at last night’s city council meeting.

Audio PlayerAlderman Todd Bernhard has been on the Fort Pierre City Council with Ricketts for 14 years.
Audio PlayerRicketts’ combined 41 years on the Fort Pierre City Council makes him the longest serving council person in the town’s history.
An open house honoring him for his 40+ years of service to Fort Pierre will be held April 28 from 4-6pm at the Sutley Senior Center.
