Avera Health officials continue working to restore the computer system used by the healthcare network’s oncology locations after a “service disruption” earlier this week.
Few details are available yet, but a spokesperson for Avera Health and The Helmsley Center in Pierre says they expect everything to be back up and running early next week.
Sigrid Wald Swanson says the first priority is to continue caring for cancer patients “during and after the outage.” She says Avera has a team working to minimize the impact of the computer system disruption. She says “physicians are involved to minimize the impact to patients’ care plans and to ensure cancer therapies are continuing safely despite the disruption.”
