Here’s what happened at Tuesday (June 8th) night’s meeting of the Mobridge City Council:
Council approved the purchase of a camera nozzle for the front of the Water Department’s jet sewer truck.
For the Fire Department, the council approved new member Colton Hunter. They also approved the purchase of four more sets of gear.
The Mayor’s zoning board appointments of Chris Peltier for three years and Chad Hintz for one year were approved.
Council approved the second reading of Ordinance #996 regarding temporary cannabis establishments, permits or licenses.
Public hearing was held and approval given of Resolution 21-07, a resolution to vacate a street and alleys adding an easement request from Montana-Dakota Utilities. Bruce Brekke from MDU told the council there is an overhead and underground power line plus a buried natural gas line in both the alley and street to be closed.
Public hearings and approvals were also given for temporary liquor licenses for the Rodeo Association; a retail on- and off-sale wine and cider license for Donnie’s; and five brown bag permits for the Chamber of Commerce.
Renewal of a malt beverage license was approved for the Family Dollar.
Council also approved: the quote of $10,942 for fence repair at the airport; final payment of $5,953.60 for the beacon project; and final review and acceptance of the beacon project at the airport.
Mayor Gene Cox mentioned that residents can contact Joel Johnson for anything related to code enforcement. City Administrator and Finance Officer Heather Beck gave an update on the notices that were sent recently.
As the meeting concluded, Councilman Kyle Jensen took a moment to thank Mayor Cox for all of his efforts on behalf of the City of Mobridge.
