FORT PIERRE – Two central South Dakota cowboys are headed to the National High School Finals Rodeo after finishing in the top four in their horsemanship events at the South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo at the Stanley County Fairgrounds.
Trey Fuller of Faith finished second in Boys Cutting with 78 points, three and a half behind winner Carter Fortune of Quinn. Kadoka’s Jackson Grimes was second in Reined Cow Horse with 81 ½ points, finishing seven and a half behind Cadell Brunsch of Pine Ridge.
Layni Stevens of St. Lawrence just missed a national berth in Girls Cutting, finishing in fifth with 64 ½ points.
