The Pierre/Fort Pierre Area Community Foundation along with the Youth Philanthropy Fund have distributed over $21,000 ($21,346) in grants to 14 community organizations.
Foundation president Becky Burke says this year’s distributions demonstrate the importance of maintaining a healthy fund that will make our communities a great place to live and work. She says the Foundation is currently participating in a $50,000 challenge grant from local philanthropists to raise funds to continue and broaden the groups’ ability to boost local organizations and projects.

Donations to the Pierre/Fort Pierre Community Foundation can be made by:

sending a check to the South Dakota Community Foundation and specifying that the donation is for the local foundation

mailing a check to Pierre/Fort Pierre Area Community Foundation, PO Box 296, Pierre, SD 57501.
The local foundation has granted over $400,000 to nonprofit organizations and programs in the area since 1998. The fund is a permanent endowment with the SDCF and is managed by a local board of directors listed below.
