Two boat ramps along Lake Oahe near Gettysburg and Mobridge have been temporarily closed for maintenance.
According to South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks, the West Whitlock Recreation Area’s boat ramp is currently closed for construction. A contractor will be tearing out a portion of the existing ramp and replacing it with new concrete. In the meantime, GFP recommends boaters use the East Whitlock north ramp to access that area of Lake Oahe.
GFP says the Walth Bay boat ramp south of Mobridge is also temporarily closed to allow Web Water construction crews to finish demobilization of equipment after maintenance on their submerged intake structure. Boaters should use the Indian Creek Recreation Area boat ramp to access Lake Oahe in that area.
Both ramps will be closed until approximately Halloween.
Boaters can find a complete list of boat ramps on the Public Fishing Access Map.
