BROOKINGS – South Dakota State basketball swept its season openers Tuesday at Frost Arena.
The SDSU women had 11 different players score in a 70-49 rout of Green Bay. Paiton Burckhard scored 14. Tylee Irwin and Haleigh Timmer each added 13. Paige Meyer had six rebounds and four assists.
The Jackrabbits will face Mississippi State in Starkville, Mississippi on Friday.

Five scored in double figures as the SDSU men eased past Bradley 81-65.
Douglas Wilson scored 20 with 10 rebounds to lead the Jacks. Noah Friedel hit three three-pointers and scored 16. Matt Dentlinger scored 13, with Alex Arians scoring 11. Baylor Scheierman had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Next for the Jacks will be nationally-ranked Alabama on the road on Friday.
