Massachusetts Tops SDSU Women At Gulf Coast Showcase

ESTERO, FL – South Dakota State struggled Friday and fell to Massachusetts 81-63 in the first game of the Gulf Coast Showcase at Hertz Arena.

Paige Meyer was the only double-figure scorer for SDSU (2-4), scoring 10. Madysen Vlastuin added nine points.

Massachusetts, led by 23 from Sydney Taylor, scored the game’s first seven points and never trailed, leading by as much as 27 in the fourth quarter.

SDSU will play either Kent State or UCLA on Saturday.
