Rawlins Municipal Library in Pierre is hosting holiday activities throughout December 2021.
Thursday, Dec. 2– Between 3:45 and 4:45 the library will host Coloring after School. Snacks and supplies are provided. The program is open to ages 1-100.
Sunday, Dec. 5– Bring a light bulb to Rawlins Library between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. for Christmas Crafternoon. This is an adults only program where participants will make a Christmas ornament. All supplies, other than the light bulb, will be provided.
Monday, Dec. 6– It’s Super Senior Day! Beginning at 1 p.m., senior citizens will have the chance to learn about proper preservation of documents and photographs. Bring items you’d like to preserve. Instruction will be provided by Matthew Reitzel with the State Historical Society.
Tuesday, Dec. 7– On Dec. 7 at 3:45, the library will host Kidding Around with Yoga. Local yoga instructor Jen Rancour will lead the games and activities. The program is open to ages 1-100.
Thursday, Dec. 9– Read what you want and then talk about it. That’s what the “Read What I Want” Book Club is all about. The program is hosted by the Friends of the Library. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
Saturday, Dec. 11– Between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., young readers are invited to read with therapy dog Pumpkin Pye. He’s a very patient listener who loves to interact with children.
Thursday, Dec. 16– Bonding Over Books Book Club Cookie Night will be held between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Participants should bring one dozen sugar cookies and cookie decorations. People are also asked to bring a hygiene, cleaning, or non-perishable food product to donate to the Pierre Area Referral Service. Participants must be 18 or older. Snacks are provided.
Saturday, Dec. 18– Two sessions of Holiday Storytime will be held on Dec. 18. The first one will begin at 10:15 a.m., the second one at 11:15 a.m. Both will feature gingerbread stories and activities. Snacks are provided. The program is open to ages 1-100.
Tuesday, Dec. 28– It’s game time! The library will provide different board games and card games for participants to use. The games will begin at 1 p.m. and go until 4:30 p.m. Snacks are provided. The program is open to ages 1-100.
Thursday, Dec. 30– Have fun building with LEGOs between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. LEGOs will be on hand for participants use, and snacks will be provided. The program is open to ages 1-100.
