The Pierre Volunteer Fire Department recently held its annual awards banquet.
This year’s award winners (in order of the picture below) are:

Firefighter of the Year– Nathan Dryden with Engine 1

Don Marso Award for overall firefighting career accomplishments– Zach Merrill with Engine 4

Rookie of the Year– Danielle Daak with Engine 4
Elections were also conducted for officers in 2022. Sean Kruger will continue as Deputy Chief and Brandon McCarthy was elected Assistant Chief.
