SIOUX FALLS – Carter Sanderson scored his second goal of the game 5:03 into overtime on Saturday to send the Oahe Capital boys to a 5-4 win over Sioux Falls Flyers 1 at Sioux Falls Furniture Mart Arena.
Sanderson, Keenan Howard, Dre Brendt and Jarron Beck scored in a four-goal second period and the Capitals led 4-2 after 34 minutes. The Flyers’ Jack Sievert forced overtime with a goal with only 24 seconds left in regulation.
Kieran Duffy made 35 saves in net for the Capitals (13-7).
Oahe is the fourth seed in the SDAHA Boys Varsity Tournament and will play fifth-seed Aberdeen in the first round on Friday, March 11 in Sioux Falls.
