ABERDEEN – After two overtime games and a solid first half in the state championship game, Lower Brule simply ran out of energy.
De Smet held Lower Brule to five second-half points Saturday and charged to a 49-26 win for its second consecutive title in the SDHSAA Class B Boys Tournament at the Barnett Center.
Post player Damon Wilkinson was dominant inside for De Smet (25-1), scoring 19 points with 23 rebounds. Kalen Garry scored eight.
Ellwyn Langdeau scored 13 for Lower Brule (22-4).
The Sioux, who defeated Castlewood in overtime on Thursday and outlasted White River in three overtimes Friday, trailed just 25-21 at halftime against De Smet before managing only two field goals and five points in the third quarter and no points in the fourth quarter.
