FORT MYERS, FL – Not being able to hold an early lead, the Minnesota Twins lost their final 2022 spring training game Tuesday to the Boston Red Sox 10-6 at JetBlue Park.
The Twins (9-10) scored all their runs in a six-run second inning that included two-run homers by Gio Urshela & Alex Kiriloff and a solo homer by Byron Buxton, his fifth of the spring.
Prospect Josh Winder started for the Twins, allowing a run and two hits in three innings. Griffin Jax allowed six of Boston’s seven runs in their half of the sixth inning.
The Twins will open their 62nd season in Minnesota Thursday when they host Seattle at Target Field. Joe Ryan is scheduled to start for the Twins.
