PIERRE – Lincoln Kienholz had another strong pitching performance Tuesday as the Pierre Governors topped Brookings 4-1 in the first game of a doubleheader at Hyde Stadium. In the second game, Brookings put the game out of reach with a six-run fourth inning in an 11-3 win.
Kienholz pitched a complete-game three-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the first game. George Stalley had an RBI triple and Brecken Krueger hit an RBI double for the Governors (11-11).
Brookings had 15 hits in the second game. Lincoln Hardin had three hits, including a double, for the Bobcats. Jake Ammann homered. Kienholz had two hits for Pierre, one of which was a triple.
