The South Dakota Beef Industry Council is a proud sponsor of this year RASDak Adventure across South Dakota and look forward to having several Team Beef South Dakota members representing the nearly 14,000 beef farms and ranches in South Dakota at this year’s event.
RASDak is an annual bicycle ride featuring beautiful back road scenery and the hospitality of South Dakota. This year’s route will begin in Hill City on June 4, 2022, and riders will make an eight-day journey across cattle country through scenic South Dakota. The race will conclude in Freeman, SD ending on June 11, 2022.
SDBIC Creative Services Manager and Team Beef South Dakota Coordinator, Merretta Anderson says, “This is a great opportunity for area beef farmers and ranchers to share their beef story with cyclists from over states and Canada that are participating in this year’s event. It provides a genuine encounter between producer and consumer, and helps to create a vital connection within the beef industry.”
The SDBIC is excited to be sponsoring RASDak 2022 and taking part in one of the nightly community dinners. On June 6, 2022, cyclists will have the opportunity to enjoy a beef meal and visit with area ranchers at the Wall Community Center where they will learn more about their commitment to care.
RASDak Volunteer Tour Director, Kasey Abbott is excited to have the SDBIC and Team Beef South Dakota members at the 2022 RASDak Event and the Beef Meal at the Wall Community Center, “The best thing about events like the beef dinner in Wall is that it gives RASDak bicyclists a chance to meet local beef producers and their families. Earlier in the day, we may have biked past their ranch, seeing firsthand the care they provide for their livestock. We often say that the best way to see South Dakota is by bicycle, but it is also the best way to see where the beef you enjoy comes from, and meet the farm and ranch families that help bring it to our table.”
