ALEXANDRIA – For the second straight day, Faulkton/Highmore fell behind early and couldn’t recover Saturday in a 9-4 loss to Platte-Geddes at the SD VFW 16U State Tournament.
Down 3-0, the Hitmen came within 3-2 on a two-run single by Carson Stephenson. Platte-Geddes had three-run innings in the fifth and sixth innings to put the game away.
Layne Cotton grounded out and Landon Wagner doubled for Faulkton/Highmore in a two-run seventh inning.
