A 45 year old Lower Brule man was acquitted of Sexual Abuse of a Person Incapable of Consent as a result of a federal jury trial in Pierre this week (Nov. 10, 2022).
The charge against Darren Flute related to an alleged incident that occurred on August 15 or 16, 2020, in Lyman County.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Office of Justice Services, Lower Brule Agency. The U.S. Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
