The first baby born at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre this year (2023) arrived at 8:54am yesterday (Jan. 2, 2023).
Evelyn Leesa Schuetzle, weighing seven pounds, three ounces and measuring 19.5 inches, is the daughter of Trinity and Luke Schuetzle of Pierre.
In 2022, there were 403 babies born at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital.
