If you’re a huge Dolly Parton fan, you probably know she often wears fingerless gloves. They tend to be flesh-colored or sheer, and depending on the angle or situation, they blend in so well you don’t even notice.
Well, the Internet has noticed, and they’re making a big deal out of it, so here we go. First, she doesn’t talk about them too much, which is unusual for Dolly. She shares stories about her wigs, boobs, tattoos, and pretty much everything else. A guy who runs a Dolly fansite said she wears the gloves to cover a scar she got after corrective hand surgery in 2010. That fits because she recently said the only reason she has tattoos is to cover her “keloid scar tissue”.
Someone said they’re compression gloves for arthritis, while others think it’s to hide age spots. And then there’s Dolly’s creative director, Steven Summers, who says she wears them “as a matter of personal taste.” I’m going with Steven.
