Pierre School District builds snow days into annual calendar; Have one more before days will need to be made up

The Pierre School District had five snow days in December 2022 prior to Christmas break, but students won’t have to make up any of them.

Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt says Pierre builds snow days into their calendar.

Glodt says they have one day left before they’d have to start making up snow days.

While the Pierre School District does have the technology to hold classes virtually like it did during the initial days of the COVID pandemic, Glodt says they’d rather not use that option for snow days.

Glodt says Pierre doesn’t typically have many– if any– snow days.

The Pierre School District’s last day of classes is currently scheduled for May 18, 2023.
