JUNE 7, 2023:
Unofficial election results from yesterday’s (June 6, 2023) Stanley County School Board election, show Chris Fosheim was the top vote getter with 140 votes. Jessica Paxton-Deal will take the other open seat on the board having received 130 votes. DeLynn Hanson received 75 votes.
School Business Manager Tate Gabriel says of the 2169 eligible voters in the district, 196– or 9%– voted.
Unofficial Pierre School Board election results have incumbent Dan Cronin winning with 1169 votes. Jason Muldoon received 283 votes and Roger Livermont got 21 votes.
For Cronin, who currently serves as the Pierre School Board President, this will be his third term on the board.
Being the only race on the ballot, Pierre Schools Business Manager Darla Mayer says voter turnout was about as expected.
Ballot counting was done in the Hughes County Courthouse where Finance Officer Thomas Oliva (olive-a) says things went smoothly.
Fosheim, Paxton-Deal and Cronin will begin their terms at their respective school board meeting next month.
JUNE 6, 2023, UPDATE:
Unofficial election results from today’s (June 6, 2023) Pierre School Board election have incumbent Dan Cronin winning with 1169 votes. Jason Muldoon received 283 votes and Roger Livermont got 21 votes.
This will be Cronin’s third term on the board. He currently serves as the Pierre School Board President.

It’s election day (June 6, 2023) for registered voters in the Stanley County and Pierre school districts.
Stanley County School District voters may cast ballots at either the Stanley County Elementary Gym or at Hayes Hall. Those voting in the Pierre School Board election may do so at New Life Church (N. Harrison Avenue) or at Faith Lutheran Church (N. Grand Avenue).
Pierre has three candidates for one, three year term. They are Dan Cronin (incumbent), Roger Livermont and Jason Muldoon. Stanley County has two seats open and three candidates. They are Chris Fosheim (incumbent), DeLynn Hanson (incumbent) and Jessica Paxton-Deal.
Polls in Pierre are open today from 7am-7pm Central Time. Stanley County elections must be held according to Mountain Time so polls there will be open 7am-7pm MT (or 8am-8pm Central Time).

The voter registration deadline to be eligible to vote in the June 6, 2023, Stanley County or Pierre school district elections is today (May 22, 2023) at 5pm.
Today is also when absentee voting begins in both school districts.
For voters in the Stanley County School District, absentee voting can be done at the business office in Parkview Auditorium. Pierre School District voters may vote early at the District’s Administration Office.

MARCH 29, 2023:
The Pierre City Commission won’t have an election June 6, 2023, but the Pierre School Board will.
City Finance Director Twila Hoffrogge says Mayor Steve Harding is unopposed.
Harding feels like a lot has been accomplished during his nearly six years as mayor.
But, Harding says, there’s more work to do.
For Pierre School Board, President Dan Cronin is the only one of the five members on that board up for reelection. He is being challenged by Jason Muldoon and Roger Livermont.
On the Stanley County School Board, DeLynn Hanson and Chris Fosheim are up for reelection. Both have turned in petitions to run, as has Jessica Paxton-Deal.
None of the incumbent Fort Pierre City Council members up for reelection this year have a challenger, so there’s no need for a municipal election in April (April 11, 2023). Those council members are Greg Kenzy, Callie Iversen and Todd Bernhard.
The Hughes County and Stanley County Commissions also don’t need to have an election this year.

People who want to run for open positions on the Pierre City Commission, Pierre School Board and Stanley County School Board can start circulating petitions today (March 1, 2023). Candidates must have them filed by March 28. The election will be June 6, 2023.
