A Vehicle was stopped by Walworth County Sheriff’s Office. A DUI investigation was initiated. The driver/suspect was allowed to attend to a child in the suspect’s car. The driver started the car and took off in the suspect vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. Several attempts to use the Spike System to end the pursuit were initiated, some with unsuccessful attempts, other attempts the spike system encountered the tires and the individual continued to drive on flat tires. Speeds were more than 100mph at times. This was not a Mobridge Police Department pursuit; it was a pursuit initiated by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office that began in rural Walworth County, South of Selby on US Hwy 83 in an area north of the Walworth/Potter County line.

Approximately 15:02hrs.
Amanda Ulmer was identified as the driver and Troy Houck was a passenger of the vehicle along with a small child.
Several agencies assisted.. Two Walworth County Sheriff Patrol vehicles received damage after the suspect/operator came into contact colliding into the patrol vehicles. The pursuit continued into Corson County. The individual was taken into custody in Corson County by BIA.
A deputy sheriff was treated for whiplash and medically cleared at Mobridge Regional Hospital and released.
