At the Mobridge City Council meeting on Wednesday, June 14th:
Council approved Dean Ulmer’s request on behalf of of the Legion committee to put up a twelve by fourteen foot building in the northeast corner of Legion Park for storage.
Al Bohle talked to the council about his plans and intentions with the property he would like to lease for his impound lot.
Council approved a pay request to Northern Plains Contracting for the waste water screw pump project in the amount of $187,870.40.
Mobridge Fire Chief Doug Delaroi asked the council for approval to send his department to assist with out-of-state wildland fires. City Finance Officer Heather Beck said the issue of workman’s comp needs to be looked into.
Council gave their approval.
Next on the agenda, council discussed the five-year Capital Improvement Plan grant and funding. According to what Finance Officer Beck said she has been told, the City is currently set up to not need the funding.
Council then passed a motion to decline the grant.
New Business
Public hearings were held and approval given on two temporary on-sale liquor licenses: one for an MYO fundraiser at the south softball fields, and the other for the Mobridge Rodeo Association for the Sitting Bull Stampede Rodeo.
Also at Wednesday night’s meeting, the council approved a pay request to O’Day Equipment in the amount of $38,102.35 for the Jet “A” Fuel project at the airport. Finance Officer Beck told the council that this project is almost finished.
Pending approval by the Zoning Board, the council passed a motion to approve a re-plat.
Council also had to approve several requirements of a Community Development Block Grant, which were:
- An Excessive Force Statement, which was read by Mayor Gene Cox;
- Certification Regarding Restrictions on Lobbying
- A Relocation, Displacement and Acquisition Plan
- A Resolution 23-03 Equal Opportunity Policy
- A Resolution 23-04 Assuring Fair Housing
- A Resolution 23-05 Code of Conduct
