WAGNER – Duane Hjelm won’t soon forget his first anniversary.
The Pierre angler won the National Walleye Tour event Friday, that day of that first anniversary, on Lake Francis Case, with a total 10-fish catch of 27 pounds, 10 ounces, a pound and an ounce better than Dylan Nussbaum of St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania.
Hjelm won over $95,000 in cash and prizes, including a new Ranger 621 FS boat.
Pierre’s Ryan Thompson was sixth at 25 pounds, seven ounces, taking home $12,320.
Josh Moret of Platte tied for 14th. Troy Lorensen of Oacoma tied for 39th. Chris Haines of Pierre tied for 42nd.
