MITCHELL – The Mitchell Post 18 Legion baseball season has been stopped due to what Mitchell Head Coach Luke Norden called “player personnel issues.”
Mitchell Baseball Association President Jason Christensen confirmed to the Mitchell Republic that the circumstances are due to a legal or criminal matter.
The newspaper requested a comment from the South Dakota Attorney General’s office, and a spokesperson said that law enforcement is aware of the allegations but couldn’t comment further because of the involvement of juveniles.
The Senior Legion team is the only one affected, as the Junior Legion teams and teener teams are continuing as normal.
There is no timetable for the resumption of activities for the Senior Legion team.
