JUNE 30, 2023:
A state prison offender serving time from charges in Hughes County is back in custody after leaving his community assignment in Rapid City facility two months ago (April 27, 2023).
The Department of Corrections says Brandon Comes Flying was arrested in Pierre yesterday (June 29) and transported to the Hughes County Jail. He is serving sentences for possession of a controlled substance and forgery.
Failure to return to custody following an assignment constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
APRIL 28, 2023:
State prison offender Brandon Comes Flying has been placed on escape status.
Comes Flying, age 42, left his community assignment in Rapid City April 27, 2023, without authorization and failed to return to the Rapid City Minimum Center at the scheduled time.
Comes Flying is a Native American male. He has black hair and brown eyes.
He is serving sentences from Hughes County for possession of a controlled substance and forgery.
