The Hyde County Parks and Recreation Board has received a grant from AARP South Dakota to be used to help build a new pool in Highmore.
Associate State Director Mary Michaels says the Hyde County Parks and Recreation Board is getting a $20-thousand Community Challenge grant.
President Mary Knox says the money will be a big help toward their project goal of about $2.3 million.
Michaels says the program has been helping communities stay active since 2017…
The Highmore pool project is expected to be completed in 2024.
AARP also gave Community Challenge grants to projects in Pine Ridge, Clear Lake, Lemmon and Rapid City.
