Post 8 Legion had a tough time generating runs on Wednesday, dropping their game with Post 22 Hardhats 16-5.
Post 8 Legion opened up scoring in the first inning. Carter Sanderson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Post 22 Hardhats pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Alex Dietrich doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Philip Bentz doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Ridge Inhofer tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, and Dominic McKnight singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Post 22 Hardhats 18U scored six runs in the sixth inning. Inhofer, McKnight, Hayden Holec, and Dietrich each had RBIs in the big inning.
Palmer Jacobs took the win for Post 22 Hardhats. The ace allowed seven hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three. Eli Kelley threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Miles Doyle was on the mound for Post 8 Legion. The righthander went three and a third innings, allowing nine runs on ten hits and striking out five. Matthew Coverdale threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.
Post 22 Hardhats launched two home runs on the day. Harrison Good had a four bagger in the third inning. Dietrich went for the long ball in the third inning.
Matthew Hanson led Post 8 Legion with three hits in four at bats.
Post 22 Hardhats saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Dietrich, Aiden Roberts, Inhofer, and Good each managed multiple hits for Post 22 Post 22 Hardhats 18U. Dietrich went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Post 22 Hardhats in hits. Post 22 Hardhats didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bentz had the most chances in the field with six.
