Remember the so-called “dress that broke the internet” . . . when EIGHT YEARS AGO people were debating: “Is it white and gold, or is it blue and black?” Well, there’s some heavy news on that front.
The groom from that wedding has been charged with ATTEMPTED MURDER.
His name is Keir Johnston, and his mother-in-law was the woman who wore the dress. Keir has been accused of a LONG period of domestic violence against his wife . . . the woman he married in 2015 . . . mostly between April of 2019 and March of last year.
Keir allegedly assaulted his wife in MULTIPLE ways on MULTIPLE occasions . . . placed her into a headlock . . . dragged her . . . stalked her . . . mentally abused her . . . strangled her at knifepoint . . . and threatened to kill her.
He denies all that, and has pleaded not guilty. A trial is scheduled for next year.
Ironically, the dress was once featured in a domestic abuse campaign by the Salvation Army . . . worn by a woman whose face was battered black and blue.
The tagline read: “Why is it so hard to see black and blue? The only illusion is if you think it was her choice. One in six women are victims of abuse. Stop abuse against women.”

(Back in the day, Ellen DeGeneres had Keir and his wife, Grace, on her show, where she gave them a honeymoon in Grenada and $10,000. Here’s video. The couple is from Scotland.)
