CASPER, WY – Despite having an early lead and having 14 hits, the Oahe Zap lost their final road game of 2023 Sunday, falling 7-5 to the Casper Spuds at Mike Lansing Field.
Trenton Duchschere and Preston Lau had RBI singles and Jacob Trusner drove in a run with a fielder’s choice in a three-run first inning for the Zap, who led 4-1 after an inning and a half and 5-4 after four and a half.
Casper gained the lead on a sacrifice fly by Caleb Simmons in the bottom of the seventh.
All six remaining games for the Zap (14-36) will be at home. A three game series with Casper will start Tuesday at Hyde Stadium, with the Badlands Big Sticks coming in Friday through Sunday for the last series of the campaign.
