A temporary power outage yesterday (July 24, 2023) in Fort Pierre caused some lingering issues with the phones in the City Office.
Mayor Gloria Hanson says the phones started working again around 11:45am today. She says those trying to call the City had been getting a message that their call couldn’t go through.
The southern part of Fort Pierre was without power for a few hours yesterday morning after an electrical cabinet near the Moose Lodge was hit by a vehicle.

The power has been restored to the impacted area of Fort Pierre.

The southern part of Fort Pierre is temporarily without power this morning (July 24, 2023) after an electrical cabinet near the Moose Lodge was hit by a vehicle.
Public Works Director Rick Hahn says the outage affects approximately one-third of the town’s electric customers. He says repairs are being made and power will be restored as soon as possible.
