PIERRE – As this season has continued for Pierre Governor Volleyball, very little has happened with ease in recent matches. That was the case again Saturday, but a stirring comeback gave Pierre a dramatic home win.
The Governors rallied from two sets down to defeat Aberdeen Central at the Riggs High Gym 12-25, 25-27, 25-18, 25-15, 15-12.
Abby Kropp paced Pierre (10-8) with 18 kills and two aces. Campbell Boddicker had 12 kills, including four each in the fourth and fifth sets. Ava Swenson served three aces.
Aberdeen Central (13-8), playing without injured senior hitter Grace Kuch, had 14 kills and a block from Lauryn Burckhard. Madison Miller served six aces.
