FEBRUARY 27, 2024:
27 more Vietnam and Vietnam-era veterans received a commemorative lapel pin and thanks for their service during a ceremony yesterday afternoon (Feb. 26, 2024) at the American Legion Cabin in Pierre.
South Dakota US Representative Dusty Johnson host the ceremony and says the recognition for these veterans is long overdue.
If someone would like information about Vietnam Veteran pinning ceremonies, Johnson encourages them to contact his offices (605-646-6454).
The pinning ceremonies recognize, honor and thank Vietnam and Vietnam-era veterans and their families for their service, valor and sacrifice. United States veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period from Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location, are eligible to receive one lapel pin.
Those receiving pins were: Terry Dueter, Greg Hall, Darrick Heyd (posthumous), Kirk Hornshuh, Eugene Koster (posthumous), Jim Lester, Larry McManus, Jerry McQuay, Gordon Paul, William Regynski, James Szana, George Vandel III, Forest Walter, Warren Weischedel, Donald Leighton (posthumous), John Swartz, Ken Phillips, Chuck Kevghas, Jerry Graves, Roy Blevins, Patrick Morrissay, Max Voller, Terry Munyon, David Pfahler and Larry Neilsen.

FEBRUARY 26, 2024:
South Dakota U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson will host a Vietnam Veteran Pinning Ceremony in Pierre today (Feb. 26, 2024).
The ceremony will be held at 3:30pm CT at the American Legion Cabin (520 South Pierre Street). The public is welcome to attend.
