MARCH 12, 2024:
Searchers have found the body of a 17 year old from the Miller area who had been missing since early Sunday morning (March 10, 2024).
During a news conference carried by the Miller Press, Hand County Sheriff Shane Croeni said dive teams found the pickup Wyatt Rowland was last seen driving Tuesday morning (March 12, 2024). Rowland wasn’t in the pickup, so divers continued the search and recovered his body Tuesday afternoon.
Croeni says phone techs with the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation were able to narrow down where Rowland may have been.
Croeni says emergency responders and volunteers from the surrounding area all came to help.
The South Dakota Civil Air Patrol also assisted by doing aerial searches.
MARCH 11, 2024, UPDATE:
The search continues today (March 11, 2024) for 17 year old Wyatt Rowland who has been missing from the Miller area since late Saturday night/early Sunday morning (March 10, 2024).
Hand County Sheriff Shane Croeni says multiple agencies and volunteers are assisting with the search that has been focused on the Lake Louise area.
Croeni asks everyone in the rural areas to be on the lookout for a red 1995 Dodge Dakota pickup with license plate number 38F459.
Anyone who finds anything is asked to call the Hand County Sheriff’s office at 605-853-2408.
MARCH 11, 2024:
The search will continue at 9am today (March 11, 2024) for a juvenile male named Wyatt missing from the Miller area since around 12:30am (12:41am) yesterday morning.
Information from the Hand County Sheriff’s Office and Hand County Emergency Management Facebook pages asks people with security cameras facing any road to check the footage for a red 1995 Dodge Dakota pickup with license plate number 38F459. Time frame to check is from Saturday night/Sunday morning at midnight to the present. If you find anything please call the Sheriffs office at 605-853-2408.
County wide searches using two planes, a helicopter and many ground resources were conducted in both Hand and Hyde Counties Sunday. Again, the search will continue today at 9am. Volunteers should meet at the Hand County Sheriff’s Office in Miller.
