PIERRE, S.D. — Potter County senior Nicholas Schlachter won the 1,600-meter run (4:51.71), finished second in the 3,200-meter run (10:48.41) and ran a leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay (3:42.18) at Tuesday’s (May 7, 2024) Capital City Qualifier track meet in Pierre. Carter Luikens ran a leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay and anchored the 400-meter relay (:46.19) and 800-meter relay (1:34.82) to first place finishes.
Potter County’s Emma Schlachter won the 800-meter run (2:30.09) and anchored the Battlers’ first-place 1,600-meter relay (4:19.15) at Tuesday’s Capitol City Qualifier. Potter County also won the 3,200-meter relay (11:00.25), from Jaycee Stevens in the 3,200-meter run (14:06.51) and from Kayden Cronin in the triple jump (32-8).
Miller’s Alex Schumacher won the 800-meter run (2:04.13) and ran a leg on Miller’s third place 1,600-meter relay (3:47.46).
Sully Buttes junior Olivia Olson won the 300-meter hurdles (:49.40) and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (:17.87).
White River high jumpers Maleena Brave and Kamaria Krogman each cleared 5-0 to finish first and second respectively.
Herreid/Selby Area’s Breanna Jochim finished second in the 100-meter dash (:13.03), second in the long jump (15-4.5), second in the 200-meter dash (:27.40) and ran a leg on the winning 800-meter relay (1:55.13).
And, Mobridge/Pollock’s Ryli Thompson won the 200-meter dash (:26.52) and 400-meter dash (1:03.12). Heidi Olson won the 1,600-meter run (5:46.12).
