The water level of the Missouri River in central South Dakota should be a good summer for recreation.
At a meeting earlier this month (May 2-3, 2024), State Game, Fish and Parks Central Parks Regional Supervisor Pat Busher told the GFP Commission that rainfall over the past several weeks will increase the anticipated water level.
On Lake Oahe, Busher says higher water level should make it more accessible.
Busher says marinas on Oahe are also in good shape.
Busher anticipates a majority of the 23 boat ramps along Lake Oahe will be accessible this summer.
